The US presidential election is officially over, but memecoin mania is NOT. $TRUMP. $TREMP. $MAGA. They're all moving —?but not where you'd expect. In our latest report, we help you get ahead of memecoin activity post-election. Here's what you need to know: 1. Somewhat surprisingly, in the two days around the election, all of the top memecoins tanked. (That said, $TRUMP was more resilient than the rest given election results.) 2. Despite the drop in market cap, the number of unique holders actually went UP post election. 3. Prices followed voter sentiment throughout the saga —?boosting Harris-related memecoins initially, but flipping once the election got underway. 4. Proof-of-stake networks will never be the same. Thanks to Shanghai making it possible to withdraw staked ETH and innovation in liquid staking, the top PoS chains experienced wild growth in staking this year, as well as significant changes in user behavior. Our 2024 Staking Trends Report breaks down the data and its implications, like how: ETH validators grew past 1 million, causing yield to drop 12%. Polygon's staking volume was roughly net neutral thanks to artificial caps on validator numbers, while ETH staked grew 27%. Liquid staking grew 26% on Ethereum, 56% on Polygon. Liquid staking makes up an ever-larger portion of all staked assets, now up to 42% of all staked ETH. This is a significant change caused by dropping yield and the attractiveness of constant control over funds.
