At the headquarters in Lautert, Erlenbach has a technical center where work is constantly being carried out on optimizing machines and processes. In moulding machines, the raw materials are introduced into the desired shape in the form of small spheres and foamed with the addition of steam. The research carried out by developers at Erlenbach is aimed in particular at optimizing the foam processes with regard to cycle times and energy consumption. The AGI has equipment for volume measurement, pressure reduction and odorization of the natural gas. The flow meter used for billing measurement belongs to NGMC. We recently conducted a test measurement of natural gas at a steel production facility in India using our FLUXUS G601 portable flow meter. This was a particularly challenging application, as the damping mat under the transducers struggled to adhere properly due to pipe sweating. Despite this challenge, our team persevered and worked through the issue, ensuring accurate diagnostics and valuable results in the end. Compressibility describes the relative volume change of a gas if pressure is applied. Especially at high pressure, the compressibility of natural gas and natural gas mixes deviates from the ideal gas behaviour. The compressibility depends on pressure, temperature, and gas compositions. It is an important factor in ensuring proper Standard Volume conversion for Volumetric Flow Measurement devices like turbines and ultrasonic or differential pressure measurements. In custody transfer, metering compressibility is calculated by flow computers with a direct link to pressure, temperature, and a quality measurement like a GC. But how is this done in the process and monitoring measurements? There are different ways to face this challenge: 1. Direct installation of analytical equipment with the measurement and usage of the quality information to calculate compressibility. The calculated compressibility fits for the pressure, temperature, and quality must be ensured at the point of the process measurement. 2. You can also use a kind of flow computer, or you can perform calculations in the control system by assuming a stable gas composition and calculating the compressibility based on temperature and pressure measurement. In this case, variations in gas composition are not identified and not compensated! 3. In case very stable gas compositions, pressure and temperature are considered, some operators program fixed compressibility factors in the calculation systems. In this case, any deviation of these parameters will lead to direct errors in the calculation. Especially in a developing supply situation with the increased import of biogas, hydrogen and LNG into the gas transport systems, flow measurement systems must be able to adapt compressibility calculations to changes in gas quality. For this specific reason, Flexim has implemented the Dynamic Gas Meter feature within our Clamp-on Ultrasonic Gas Flow meters. This function allows the device to calculate the compressibility, the molar mass and the density of gas mixes directly from the measured sound speed using only pressure and temperature input. At Emerson | Flexim, we take pride in our globally recognized installations. Today, we would like to reflect on a special project in our native country, Germany. The Leitzach plants have been producing hydroelectricity since 1913. In 1929, they expanded to pumped storage by constructing an underwater reservoir and installing pumps. Lake Seeham is used as a storage tank for the Leitzach plants. The penstock pipeline, which connects the lake to the power station, crosses the Leitzach Valley as a culvert pipeline. In order to protect the valley from possible flooding in the event of damage to the pipeline, the operators looked for a way to retrofit the penstock pipeline with flow measurement equipment as part of a modernisation of the measurement and control technology in 2009. ?????? ?????????????????? ????????: Flow measurements on the penstock pipeline of the Leitzach plants for monitoring of leakages and burst pipes. #waterindustry #watermanagement #emerson #flexim

Unlock the power of precision with FLUXUS clamp-on ultrasonic systems. ???? FLUXUS clamp-on ultrasonic systems determine the volume flow according to the transit-time difference method. Since the ultrasonic signal that is irradiated into the pipe is carried by the medium flowing inside, a time delay occurs between the acoustic transit time both with and against the flow of direction. This time delay can be measured very accurately. The measuring transmitter calculates the volume flow rate based on the parameters input for the pipe geometry and the physical properties of the medium stored in the internal database. The district’s early settlers described the underground water supply as “liquid gold” and its value to the district to date remains high. Therefore, its future depends largely on the adoption of a programme to maintain and manage this precious resource. The Burdekin District is the largest cane-growing area in Australia. Lower Burdekin Water Authority Board has operated for over 40 years. They have developed unique mechanisms to supply river water directly to irrigators and continue to improve and conserve groundwater.
