Hello everyone, and happy new week! I hope we're ready to hit our goals this week. But as we go about it, there's an issue that needs discussing. Health Hacks for Migrant Remote Workers The world of work has gone remote, and migrants are at the forefront of this global shift. But with the freedom and flexibility of remote work comes the unique challenge of maintaining optimal health in a virtual office. Whether you're a globetrotting freelancer or a corporate nomad you sure need to keep your body and mind in top shape while you're at it. But how? Let's share some tips: 1. Build Your Remote Oasis First things first, let's craft a workspace that fosters both productivity and well-being. Ditch the makeshift desk in your bedroom and create a dedicated haven for work. Invest in proper ergonomics—a supportive chair, an adjustable desk, and good lighting—to prevent aches and pains. Remember, natural light is your friend! 2. Routine Reigns Supreme Remote work can blur the lines between work and personal life. To combat this, establish a regular routine and stick to it as much as possible. Set defined working hours, schedule breaks to get up and move, and avoid checking emails outside of these designated times. This structure will bring much-needed stability and prevent burnout. 3. Eat Right What you eat directly impacts your energy and cognitive function. Ditch the instant noodles and embrace a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein. Stay hydrated throughout the day, and don't underestimate the power of a healthy snack to keep your focus sharp. 4. Socialize as much as possible Remote work can feel isolating, especially for migrants navigating new cultures and communities. Combat this by actively connecting with colleagues, friends, and family. Schedule virtual coffee breaks, video calls, and online group activities. Remember, building a remote work tribe is essential for mental well-being. 5. Practice Mindfulness The constant buzz of notifications and deadlines can take a toll on your mental health. Make time for mindfulness practices like meditation, deep breathing, or yoga. These activities can help manage stress, improve focus, and promote overall well-being. Bonus Tips: a). Invest in noise-canceling headphones to minimize distractions. b). Take advantage of online fitness classes or workout routines tailored for remote workers. c). Set boundaries with clients and colleagues to avoid overwork. d). Explore local parks and green spaces for nature breaks and fresh air. e). Don't hesitate to seek professional help if you're struggling with mental health challenges. By following these tips and staying adaptable, you can navigate the exciting world of remote work as a migrant while prioritizing your health and well-being. Remember, a healthy you is a productive and impactful you! #migranthealth #remotework #wellbeing #digitalnomads #globalcitizens

I'm leaving my job! That's what my friend told me some days before Christmas last year. I was puzzled. The job pays well and my friend seemed quite comfortable. Bit when I quizzed further, he revealed to me that he'd been feeling really undervalued at the company. What broke the camel's back was that he had to take care of his mom back home in Nigeria who was diabetic and there was no single provision by the company for that, given the several committed he put in every day . He was done. Several workers are like my friend. Think we're lying? A 2021 report by LinkedIn showed that 80% of respondents globally admitted to leaving a job at some point due to feeling undervalued or underpaid. This shows that this is a pressing problem. But what's the solution? Among others, one unique solution we've developed is the Fleri Employer Managed Care Solution. What's so special about this, you ask? 1. We have multiple providers as partners. So handing over the care of your employees will definitely help you save costs and manage overhead. We also have flexible care plans that we can tweak based on your employee demographics and budget. 2. You get to retain employees and keep them satisfied. For context, in 2023, Forbes reported that replacing a high-performing employee can cost a company anywhere from 6 months to 20 times the employee's annual salary. In this tight economic climate, you don't want to be bleeding funds unnecessarily. 3. Your employees also get improved care coordination and support, all handled by us. These are just a few of the benefits you get from signing up for our Employer Managed Care solution today. You literally gain more than you spend. Don't miss out on high performers like my friend's company. Migrate to the good side of life with Fleri today. Start your journey here today: https://joinfleri.com/

Nurses are the backbone of healthcare, holding patients' hands through the most vulnerable moments. But delivering excellent nursing care faces systemic challenges, as reflected in some stark statistics: Globally, there's a global shortage of 5.9 million nurses!?In the US alone,?1.1 million vacancies are projected by 2030.? For Africa, the statistics are even more dire. ICN-International Council of Nurses estimated in their 2023 statistics that at least?60 nurses and midwives per 10,000 population?are needed to achieve adequate health coverage.?Currently,?most African countries fall far below this threshold,?indicating a significant shortage. This means... 1. Overworked Staff:??? Nurses work demanding shifts,?often exceeding safe hours.?In 2022,?27% of US nurses reported working double shifts regularly. 2. Patient Ratio Blues:?The ideal nurse-to-patient ratio in acute care is 1:4.?Reality??The average is 1:7,?compromising individualized attention. 3. Burnout Epidemic:?44% of nurses experience burnout,?leading to high turnover and reduced job satisfaction.?This negatively impacts both patient care and the healthcare system. 4. Technology Gap:?Healthcare technology often lags behind other industries.?Access to outdated or non-integrated systems can hinder nurses' efficiency and communication. Seeing these,Klarah started operations to create a solution. To build Uber for nurses across Africa in such a way that any person in need of nurses, wherever they might be, would be able to get qualified nurses at their beck and call. To learn how they're doing this, the challenges they face, and how they aim to expand, together with expert insights on healthcare in Africa and globally, join Lucy Hartshorn and Ginyu Innocentia Kwalar, founder and CEO of Klarah Ops, as they have a no-BS discussion.
