Shout out to the Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC) for adopting minimum standards to allow electronic monitoring technology on #tuna fishing vessels, a move that will augment and/or replace human observers. This technology is key to improving #data collection, #transparency, and oversight, particularly on longline vessels. This action by #WCPFC aligns with the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) to establish consistent standards for electronic monitoring across the Pacific Ocean. This is an important step forward for sustainable tuna management. Monterey Bay Aquarium thanks both WCPFC member nations and the private sector leadership of many retailers, foodservice, restaurant groups, and food companies for bringing about this important advancement in the tuna sector, including Whole Foods Market, Aramark, Bon Appétit Management Company, Flagship Restaurant Group, Nestlé Purina North America, Pacific Catch, and PCC Community Markets. ? Flagship Restaurant Group has signed a lease for approximately 14K square feet of space at the eagerly awaited Heritage Park in Downtown Gilbert with plans to bring three of its concepts to the East Valley. You may already know some of their popular brands with Phoenix locations, like Cham Pang Lanes, Ghost Donkey, PYRO and Palma. This nine-acre, mixed-use masterplan community in the heart of Downtown Gilbert will feature office, retail, multifamily and hotel projects all designed around a remarkable public amenity space.
