关于我们
Every child in Florida should have high-quality afterschool opportunities that are accessible, affordable, accountable and inclusive. The Florida Afterschool Network was established in 2005 to provide unified leadership to advocate for the development, enhancement, sustainability and accessibility of evidence-based, high-quality afterschool and summer learning programs and policies statewide. In Florida, there are currently more than 500,000 students receiving expanded learning opportunities through afterschool and out-of-school time programs. However, for every one child in a program, three more are waiting to get in. That's where we come in. What we do: COLLABORATE with public & private partners to share high-quality & innovative resources with afterschool & summer programs. PROMOTE QUALITY standards for afterschool & summer learning programs that inform program decisions, public awareness & accelerate learning. ADVOCATE for policies that expand funding, availability & accessibility of afterschool & summer programs.

As we continue to face the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and brace for the incoming Hurricane Milton, we want to express our deepest concern and support for all of Florida’s children, families, and afterschool programs affected by these storms. We know how resilient you are, and together, we will get through this. Safety remains the top priority. For those in Milton’s path, please take all necessary precautions. Charge your devices now and secure your property. Take photos and make sure you have a copy of your insurance coverage accessible. For families and providers still recovering from Helene, we understand how difficult it is to navigate the road to recovery while preparing for another potential disaster. Know that resources and assistance are available! We stand ready to offer guidance during this challenging time. #StaySafe #HurricaneMilton #buildingbrighterfutures
