There’s a saying, "You are exactly where you are meant to be." And at Duke University - The Fuqua School of Business, surrounded by my incredible Fuqua family, I know it's true. What a year it's been! From intense core classes and a full-time job to consulting for a global startup, I've been challenged and pushed in ways I never imagined. And through it all, I've grown to become a better #leader. #Fuqua isn't just a school; it's become my home, overflowing with the most supportive and inspiring people I've ever met. This community is my family. We celebrate victories together, lift each other through challenges, and forge bonds that will last a lifetime. This is the power of #TeamFuqua. ?? This incredible recognition, from among hundreds of impactful organizations, celebrates our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access (DEIA) through our new three-year DEIB strategy. We're absolutely ecstatic to share that the Fiver Children's Foundation just won the JPMorganChase's DEIA Award last night! This incredible honor celebrates leading nonprofits making waves in #DEIA, and we were chosen from hundreds of incredible organizations – many significantly larger than us with vast resources and teams. This is a massive milestone in our ongoing #DEI journey. From the very beginning, we've been driven to amplify our impact, guided by our amazing DEIA taskforce on the board (James, Michèle, Ryland, Bonni, Daphne, Justin, Gabriella), passionate staff, inspiring Executive Director, Christie, and our incredible alumni and community partners. Together, we've created a leading People Strategy with a multi-year DEI strategy at its core integrated into our strategic plan. This work is the beating heart of our mission, focused on our Fiver participants, families, alumni, and community members. And the impact of Fiver's work? Undeniable. Since 2000, 99% of our program graduates have graduated from high school, with over 80% going on to college or the military – often as the first in their families to achieve this.?This year, 100% of eligible Fiver graduates earned their high school diplomas, and 93% enrolled in college, trade school, or the military. Being recognized by JPMorganChase, a true leader in DEIA, is an incredible honor. This is especially meaningful to me, having started my #HR career there almost a decade ago at the firm and witnessed their unwavering commitment to DEIA firsthand by business leaders (Brad, Saul, Lori, Thasunda) at the firm and CHRO, Robin. This award fuels our excitement as we approach our 25th Anniversary Annual Benefit, where we'll celebrate this achievement and honor those who champion our mission. We recently concluded our summer job training program with an exceptional visit to Mastercard’s Manhattan office! Our Fivers were treated to an insightful tour of Mastercard’s impressive workspace, got hands-on with the latest advancements in banking technology, and engaged in a thought-provoking panel discussion featuring four professionals from various levels and stages of their Mastercard careers. A huge thank you to Mastercard for their generous support and for creating such a valuable experience. This visit not only showcased the future of fintech but also inspired and empowered our Fivers with real-world insights and opportunities.?

Had a fantastic time today at Fiver Children's Foundation’s Alumni Summer BBQ with fellow Fiver Alumni and Alumni Board members! It was wonderful to reunite with the team, meet newer alumni members, and reconnect with Fivers I haven't seen in years. Fun Fact: Shola Jones (pictured in black behind me) was my very first Camp Fiver counselor 22 years ago! Much like how he was likely navigating his way dealing with many first-year campers like myself. I was learning what it was like to be independent and discover the power of friendship!
