Five Talents UK
非营利组织管理
Transforming lives through economic empowerment, education and savings groups through central and eastern Africa.
关于我们
Five Talents works with local partners to transform lives, empower women and encourage sustainability by starting community-led Savings Groups where members can learn, earn, save & invest together. In Groups, members receive literacy, numeracy and business skills training, equipping them to set up businesses with their own resources. Microfinance initiatives support small businesses. Through training, saving, and access to loans, our partners support members as they establish and nurture their small businesses. Each business builds economic independence for the individual entrepreneur, their families and the families of those they employ. Programmes differ depending on the need in the area, for example, in Tsavo we offer Savings Groups and education as well as support in understanding conservation and how local communities can protect their business, reducing human wildlife conflicts and therefore aiding conservation within the National Park. Five Talents partner programmes operate in Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Burundi and Bolivia.

Thank you Randal Charitable Foundation for your support, and for highlighting our work alongside programme partners in #Kenya #economicempowerment
This week we are spotlighting Five Talents UK, a charity committed to economic empowerment through innovative, savings-led microfinance programmes. Five Talents UK works with marginalised and financially excluded communities across rural Eastern Africa, Asia, and South America, providing savings schemes, business, literacy, and numeracy training. Their model is built on trust and collaboration, with each programme run by experienced local partners who understand the needs and aspirations of community members. Through Savings Groups, members learn, earn, save, and invest together—often accessing financial services and business training for the first time. These initiatives help families increase their income, secure livelihoods, and build resilience against financial shocks, creating long-term, sustainable change. Since its inception, over 1 million people across 12 countries have benefitted from Five Talents programmes, with 30,000 members currently engaged in Savings Groups. In 2022, the Randal Charitable Foundation provided grant funding to support Five Talents' programme in Marsabit, northern Kenya, helping to drive financial inclusion, economic security, and community resilience. We are proud to support Five Talents in their mission to eradicate extreme poverty and restore human dignity through sustainable economic empowerment. The partnership between Five Talents UK and Greening Burundi is a shining example of how collaborative efforts can address pressing environmental challenges while fostering community empowerment and sustainable development. This partnership also highlights the importance of being partner-led and community-driven, ensuring that local voices and needs are at the forefront of development efforts. Together, Five Talents UK and Greening Burundi are setting a powerful example of how global partnerships can drive meaningful change, combining environmental stewardship with community empowerment to create a more sustainable and just world. Burundi Environmental Partnership Flourishes. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization Burundi has lost a staggering 50% of its forest cover in the last 25 years. In response to this enormous challenge, in 2017 Greening Burundi launched initiatives to ensure climate justice in Burundi. We are delighted to be partnering with them again in 2025 to help support their work with reforestation and restoration, environmental awareness and education, water resource protection and job creation. Five Talents UK Co-CEO Kris Coppock said: 'Our partners and members live in countries which are disproportionately affected by climate change. Our programme model is centred around being partner-led and community owned and run, but the nature of our work means each year Five Talents UK team members do have to make periodic trips to central and eastern #Africa. We already have steps in place to minimise our air travel, but we wanted to further offset the impacts of the flights we do take. 'This continued partnership with Greening Burundi is an opportunity to both acknowledge our environmental responsibilities as well as to further support community empowerment and sustainability in #Burundi.' Executive Director of Greening Burundi, Emmanuel Niyoyabikoze said: 'We are inspired by the progress we've made together and the potential for even greater impact. This support will enable us to expand our projects, reach more communities, and deepen our commitment to environmental restoration, sustainable development, and community empowerment.' #environment #sustainability #climatechange #Burundi ##community #empowerment Five Talents has worked in Burundi since 2008 to support literacy and business skills training, and the development of community savings groups. Our programme partners support members as they learn to read, write and manage their finances, as well as develop skills and attitudes they can apply in their homes and businesses.
