We provide leadership development that transforms and emboldens individuals and organizations all over the world.
关于我们
At the Center for Leadership at Florida International University (FIU), we partner with capable leaders and organizations in a purposeful process to set the stage for continued growth and development. Time and again, we see that small adjustments, new ways of tackling a problem, increased awareness, and doing things just a little bit differently add up to have a HUGE impact. We seek to help each participant find those micro-adjustments, as well as a cohesive plan for action. We have worked with over 6,000 leaders during the last 16 years, from C-Suite executives and military generals to front-line managers and aspiring leaders. Participants have come from 23 countries and over 350 different organizations, and our custom programs have engaged both medium-sized and large organizations - from long-term initiatives with 3 of the 10 largest school districts in the United States, to projects and engagements in healthcare and retail, technology and manufacturing, to investment advisory, and everything in between. We are passionate about what we do and proud to do our best to “make a dent” in our local, regional, and global community. Using a multidisciplinary approach based on the integration of empirical research in leadership development and applied best practices, we focus on creating better leaders for a better world. Last week, I was invited as a panelist for the Leadership in Tech seminar at the?Center for Leadership at FIU. One theme came up: the challenges of leading Gen Z. “They think so differently about work.” “They don’t believe in earning things.” “It’s so hard to get them to care.” And honestly? Yes. But it’s not without reason. Gen Z has entered the workforce during a time of deep cultural change: ?? Mass layoffs have gone from being shameful for companies to just a standard business practice. ?? AI is ushering in the next industrial revolution with little predictability on which jobs will even exist in 10 years. Hell, 5 years. ?? The American Dream that incentivized earlier generations is crushed. They see work differently because work is different. SWIPE FOR SOME HARD FACTS. >> What has been your experience leading the emerging workforce? How much can be chalked up to life stage versus true generational differences? #futureofwork?#boldleadership #genz Grateful to?the Center?for the opportunity to dive deep into this conversation with incredible leaders.

Yesterday, we had the incredible honor of hosting a lecture for FIU’s longest-serving president and visionary leader, Modesto Maidique. He shared invaluable insights on leadership, resilience, and the power of listening — reminding us that great leaders are lifelong learners. Dr. Maidique’s remarkable journey from academia to transforming FIU into a top-tier university left us inspired to keep pushing boundaries and striving for excellence. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and to Dr. Maidique for sharing his story and wisdom! ??? What does an immigrant, MIT-educated PhD do when they finish their formal education and research in 1970 in electrical engineering? Modesto Maidique moved to CA and co-found the silicon chip division of Analog Devices (NASDAQ: ADI), of course. Pioneering “silicon” in the very early innings of Silicon Valley. After then after that? CEO of what is now Genome Therapeutics followed by partner at Harbrecht & Quist before ventire capital was really a “thing” - and appointments at Harvard, Stanford, and MIT. He took the reins at an upstart public university at the edge of the Everglades in Miami and for 23 years, laid the foundation and built the structure and edifice of a major national and global (and still ascending) powerhouse of a university. Law school. Med school. Architecture school. R1 status. All under his watch. All this as background to say that I’m incredibly honored to be hosting his legacy lecture this coming Tuesday - March 18th at 11am. There has been an incredible response from the community, but we still have space for his lecture, fireside chat, and following reception. Leadership in tech is about more than just technical expertise — it’s about strategic influence, collaboration, and leading with impact. Over the past week, 17 leaders from 7 organizations came together in the Leadership in Tech program to refine these skills, tackling everything from navigating power dynamics to mastering energy and time management. With insights from top faculty and a distinguished leadership panel, they walked away ready to champion bold ideas, build high-performing teams, and elevate their leadership game.
