Fisher House Foundation's Vice President of Strategic Initiatives Tish Stropes was among the esteemed graduates recognized by Florida State University this weekend!? She received The Inspire Award?for her leadership at Fisher House Foundation helping military families stay connected to loved ones undergoing medical treatment. Tish also sustains long-term partnerships with supporting organizations and spearhead the Foundation's engagement with world wide sporting competitions for service members and veterans.? Tish has spoken internationally about the importance of families in the continued recovery of wounded, injured and ill service members and veterans. She is a Presidential Leadership Scholar and currently serves on the Boot Campaign Board and FSU’s Division of Student Affairs Council.? This past Veterans Day, GE Aerospace donated $400,000 to three non-profit organizations to help support veterans and their families with housing and counseling in times of need, in addition to taking part in volunteer events nation-wide. GE employees volunteered at Fisher Houses across the nation, helping with landscaping, meeting with families, and taking care of household needs. Thank you for supporting veterans and their families! At 104, Army veteran David G. Perez has lived a long, full life of devotion to his family and country. "When in service, I thought of my family and friends. I'm proud of my country, but my family is what kept me strong." Enlisting in 1941, he received two Bronze Stars during his service. Later he married and had two daughters and, today, his daughter Felicia is his caregiver. After a fall caused a TBI, David and his daughter were able to stay at Fisher House.
