Behind every successful project is precise data—and behind that data is our incredible surveying team! At Fisher Associates, our surveyors combine expertise with cutting-edge technology to provide accurate, reliable data for projects across various industries. Drone-driven data improves accuracy, provides ease of collection in hazardous or difficult terrains, facilitates collection and sharing of information, and enhances health and safety for field crews. Using advanced LiDAR scanning technology, we capture highly detailed data with unmatched precision. Recently, our team took on a challenging wind farm project in New York State, surveying 320 acres of land, 26 wind turbines, and over 10 miles of access roads – all with our drone-mounted LiDAR. The result? A comprehensive, high-resolution snapshot of the site’s topography, structures, and key features. By utilizing drone technology, we deliver precise data more efficiently, reducing time on-site and improving safety for our crews. On this large-scale project, our approach saved a minimum of three weeks compared to traditional surveying methods – translating to cost savings and faster decision-making for our clients. We attended the 2025 APWA NY Chapter’s Annual Conference and had Tim Faulkner, PE, Senior Transportation Manager, present “Neighborhood Traffic Calming and the City of Syracuse’s Approach to Connecting Neighborhoods – Effective Tools to Reduce Speeds in Neighborhoods.”? Tim’s presentation shared how practical, community-focused strategies are making a real difference in the City of Syracuse — from reducing vehicle speeds to enhancing pedestrian and cyclist safety, all while strengthening neighborhood connectivity. Tools like curb extensions, raised crosswalks, chicanes, and mini roundabouts aren't just traffic solutions — they’re tools that foster safer, more livable communities.
