Following an extensive $1.4 million rehabilitation, tonight City Council and Administration joined the community in celebrating the rededication of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Footbridge in the heart of our downtown. This evening's ceremony was especially poignant as today is the 60th anniversary of when Dr. King was honored with the Nobel Peace Prize. Special thanks to Fishbeck for their work leading this project and to the Monroe Downtown Development Authority for the financial support to add new lighting to this downtown landmark! And to Mr. James Elliott, who spent many City Council meeting public comment periods advocating for this project to move ahead, be proud of the fruits of your tireless efforts!

Had an opportunity to see the progress on Fishbeck's design for FAWM's new home. In a couple of weeks they will move administration functions in with full operations transitioning after the first of the year to prevent disruptions to food distributions during the holidays.

Can’t wait for Invest in Ability on November 7th! So glad Fishbeck is a part of this event and continues to support Disability Advocates.
