Top executives from the leading national golf associations were on hand to present updates on the game, industry and snapshots into the future. We asked First Tee-GWDC participants "What does Black History Month mean to you?" Throughout the month, we're featuring participant reflections and today we have our last installment and hear from Joelle: "While black history should be celebrated every day, Black History Month to me is a particular time to highlight, celebrate and honor the influential members of the African American community who have made and continue to make positive impacts in the world. A chance to highlight different people who have made a significant impact but stories become lost in history or generally not recognized like Dr. George F. Grant, Rebecca Lee Crumpler, Eunice Carter, Bayard Rustin, Claudette Colvin, and so many more. Black History Month is a reminder to me that my diversity isn’t something to be ashamed of, but rather something to be proud of and celebrated." #blackhistorymonth #buildinggamechangers

We asked First Tee-GWDC participants "What does Black History Month mean to you?" They have pioneered achievements in science, literature, and the arts. Through the advocacy for civil rights and social justice, Black Americans helped positively shape the course of American history. We all should recognize that Black History is, indeed, American History and is just as important today. Full Swing Season 3 premiered this week on Netflix and First Tee-GWDC was invited to a special premiere screening at The Motion Picture Association of America office in DC. It was a wonderful evening of golf activation, community outreach, big screens and, of course, popcorn! Thanks to 2024 Outstanding Participants Christina and Whitley, Board Members Wes and Jarrett along with Coach Mike for repping the Chapter!
