First 5 in the News - Redding Chamber and First 5 Shasta host event educating on supportive childcare policies First 5 Shasta and the Greater Redding Chamber of Commerce hosted a community luncheon focused on the importance of having family- friendly policies for workers. Grant Coordinator Jackie Scott told KRCR that there is a shortage of workers locally and said more options for employees who are also parents can help fill that gap. It was an energetic exchange of ideas among passionate people committed to a shared vision—making a real difference for children and families in California. By coming together, we're not just expanding our coalition; we're forging meaningful paths to equity and opportunity for every child in this state.
