Last week we attended the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce’s annual Chamber Awards Gala. The “Old Hollywood” night was filled with glitz, glam, and community celebration. We were honored to be nominated for Large Business of the Year. Although we did not win, our friend, neighbor, and client, Lift Bridge Brewing Company, did take home this award. We are beyond thrilled for them and very grateful to be a part of such a great community. Member FDIC

关于我们
First Resource Bank is focused on ensuring three simple principles are at the core of all we do: having a team approach, providing unequaled service, and making a positive impact in the communities we serve. By implementing three simple tenets, the organization has experienced growth and an expanding client base. In April 2018, to further increase services, locations, and products to the growing organizations, the parent company of First Resource Bank and Eagle Valley Bank merged the institutions and retained the name First Resource Bank. Today, First Resource Bank is a full service bank that continues serving the needs of small businesses, entrepreneurs, and individuals in the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. The company remains owned by a small group of entrepreneurs that understand the needs of our clients. We pride ourselves on providing prompt client service and simple lending and deposit solutions. We intend to continue making a positive impact on the communities we serve. With branch offices located in Lino Lakes, Minneapolis, Forest Lake, Lindstrom, and Stillwater, Minnesota, as well as St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, we look forward to the opportunity to work with you! Our next employee spotlight shines on Amarei Burton-Thompson, Universal Banker at our Mill District branch. Amarei admits his story is a bit unorthodox, but certainly an interesting path into the banking world. While still in high school at Tartan High in Oakdale a few years ago, Amarei had an extra time slot available in his class schedule. He decided to take a workshop with a teacher who was a member of the Oakdale Area Chamber of Commerce. He connected with another OACC member, FRB’s Chief Development Officer, Marc Cove, and used his free time to job shadow Marc at FRB’s Stillwater branch. He absorbed as much of the daily operations of a bank as possible and enjoyed the atmosphere at FRB. A few days later, Marc messaged Amarei, expressing how impressed he and the team were and inquired if he was interested in working at FRB. So, upon graduating from Tartan, he began working at FRB immediately. “It was mid-trimester, so I could have started right away, but it made more sense to wait until I graduated,” Amarei said. “I think I graduated on a Friday, and then that Monday, I started at FRB.” Now, Amarei is working primarily at the Mill District branch, as he is currently enrolled at Augsburg University, just a few minutes away. At work, Amarei cherishes connecting with customers in his current role as a Universal Banker, getting to know each one beyond their basic banking needs. “They come in, and I try to make as much of a connection as I can,” Amarei said. “It’s always good for them to come in and sit down and chat. That small talk and trying to make the connection leads to more stories to tell the next time they visit.” Outside of work and school, Amarei is a big fan of playing basketball and video games when time allows. However, he has a true passion that he devotes much of his free time to. Amarei specializes in custom, one-of-a-kind sneaker design. You can see more on his Instagram page (@1st.ratecustomz), and he also commissioned a special set of sneakers for FRB, which are displayed at Mill District upstairs on the Platform. “I love painting shoes, coming up with new designs, bringing people’s visions to life, and giving them a one-of-a-kind custom item,” Amarei said. “Basically, everything I do outside of work strives towards that passion.” What does Amarei love most about working at FRB? “The community, the people,” Amarei said. “Besides my coworkers, who are great, the community feel is amazing. I feel like here at FRB, we care about each individual person and making that connection. That’s why you can come in anytime if you want to talk to us. Whether it’s something about your account or just having a chat, we’re here to chat anytime.” Member FDIC

This week, a group of First Resource Bank staff attended the annual Salute to Service at Oak Marsh Golf Course & Event Center. The event was hosted to thank active and retired military, police, and firefighters for all they do to keep our country and neighborhoods safe. Our very own, Terri Brinkman’s husband, Dave, joined us at the event and was honored as a retired Marine (1987–1991) and a veteran of the Wisconsin Army National Guard (1993–2000). We are so grateful for all service members, past and present. Member FDIC
