Some of our team spent an insightful morning at the annual “State of the City” event hosted by Athens-Limestone Chamber of Commerce, where we heard from the Mayor of Athens, Ronnie Marks. He provided an exciting update on all the current developments and happenings in Athens and Limestone County (which is the fastest-growing city and county in Alabama respectively.) Tonight we were proud to sponsor and attend BBQ with Bankers, hosted by the Alabama Bankers Association. It’s always a favorite event of ours and a great opportunity for local bankers to network and connect with up and coming students at the University of North Alabama. First Metro Bank’s very own Ronisha Pearson was honored this week at a dinner for the Florence Falcon LAUNCH Program. LAUNCH is an opportunity for students to work in a career field of interest as a part of their school schedules. The goal of LAUNCH is to provide students with career-focused work experiences that promote knowledge and skill elevation while maximizing development. Ronisha is a part-time teller at our Downtown Florence branch in conjunction with her involvement in LAUNCH, and she has also served as a teller at our student-operated branch at Florence High School. We are so thankful to have her on our team! First Metro Bank and its Board of Directors are pleased to announce the addition of Angela Ford to their team in Athens, serving as Assistant Vice President and Branch Operations Manager. Ford is a native of Florence, a long-time Athens resident, and a graduate of Mars Hill Bible School and the University of Alabama. Since moving to Athens over ten years ago, she has immersed herself in the Athens community through various civic and community organizations, particularly with her involvement in financial literacy initiatives. “I am so honored and pleased to begin my fifteenth year in banking with First Metro Bank as the Athens Branch Operations Manager. Developing relationships, focusing on our customers, and embracing our community has brought the most enjoyment throughout my career,” says Ford. “I have lived in Athens for the last ten years, and I can’t imagine a better area to plant my feet and call home. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to meet even more people and to grow and strengthen First Metro Bank’s presence in Limestone County.” Ford’s banking background is in sales and management, which will be carried into her new role, but she will also be responsible for the oversight of branch operations at both of First Metro’s offices in Athens—on Washington Street and Lindsay Lane—in addition to being a lending officer. Rodney Howard, First Metro’s President and CEO, stated, “We are thrilled to add Angela to our team of community bankers.
