关于我们
// In the water early // In to work on time-ish // First Light Surf Club is a community, brand, and lifestyle founded in North County San Diego dedicated to the working persons who surf before the start of the 8 to 5. We love surfing, good coffee, and community - and we believe there's no better way to start the day than with just that. Make the most of the 5 to 8 before the start of the 8 to 5. Join us for a community SIP & RIP, shop our apparel and accessories, and follow along for Spotlight interviews with local surfers in the community who are making the most of their mornings. We are creating a space that celebrates that and empowers people to make the most of their mornings. All are welcome to join. See you at first light.

It’s been a while since we’ve had solid waves, so my mind drifts back to this day in February 2020. I was stuck in back-to-back morning meetings while the swell and winds were lining up perfectly. All I could do was watch the Surfline cam, each perfect set feeling like a missed opportunity. My focus on work faded with every passing wave, and by late morning, I was mentally checked out. When my last meeting finally ended, I raced to the beach, threw on my wetsuit, and paddled out. For a glorious 10 minutes, it was everything I had hoped for. But as quickly as it came, the tide shifted, and the waves faded. I couldn’t help wishing I’d gotten there sooner, but I was still grateful to get out at all. There’s always a push-pull between work and surfing. I’m thankful for the stability work provides, but it stings when the waves are pumping and I can’t get out there. But reflecting on this makes me all the more thankful for the times I do get to paddle out and excited for some winter swells to soon hit our coast. Who can relate? ?? Surfline\Wavetrak, Inc. screen grab of unknown surfer ??♂? who had a better morning than me ??????
