I am proud to announce the 2024 Mexico Early Stage 100. Over the last few months I worked closely with the founders at Mexico Tech Week including Bernardo Cordero, Victor Noguera, Archie Cochrane, and Mack Meyer from Venture Capital Mx. Our goal is to celebrate the work of Mexican startup entrepreneurs and highlight the excellence of these companies. We also want to make it easier for LatAm, US, and other global investors to learn about the top early stage companies in Mexico so they find great companies to back at pre-Seed, Seed, Series A, and beyond. Mexico plays a pivotal role in LatAm tech.? With massive problems to solve in huge markets (e.g., financial services, healthcare), trends like near shoring, and with a critical mass of tech and startup talent, I am convinced we will see a generation of great companies built in Mexico. To date, I have backed over 15 companies across Mexico in cities like Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara. From my first angel investment in 99minutos.com (Alexis Patjane) in 2020 to my most recent Seals AI (Luis Mario Garcia) just 1 month ago,? Four years ago today, I launched First Check Ventures as a passion project to support great founders and keep busy during the pandemic. Today, we have more than 4,000 LPs, invested in 100+ companies across 5 continents and 25 countries, and delivered incredible returns for our investors. We take pride in discovering the next generation of unicorn founders and being the first check in for over 90% of our investments. Our founding teams are diverse (97%) and have at least one female co-founder (45%). These four years have been the best of my life. Witnessing the growth of our portfolio companies, founders evolving, and strengthening partnerships has been truly rewarding. I thank everyone for their role in this journey and hope to continue to build trust with those who put their trust in me. Excited to announce my upcoming trip to Jakarta, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur with 42Geeks next week! I'll be in Jakarta from Feb 19-24, Singapore from Feb 24-27, and Kuala Lumpur from Feb 27-March 3.
