  • For decades, Theresa Morris worked in the restaurant industry, honing skills that have translated to the financial sector for the past four years.   • It doesn't take long for Elizabeth Wilson to pick her favorite part of her career. "I enjoy helping people." Elizabeth spent years in the retail business, working to build relationships on a first impression. Now, as a Customer Service Representative for First Central, Elizabeth enjoys the opportunity to build trust through multiple interactions. "In retail, you have a very short amount of time to make a good first impression, get to know somebody and build trust. At First Central, you get to see people more and more and build trust. Having unique conversations with people is something that I enjoy doing."   • With an urge to help people, Justin Fredrick joined the Illinois Army National Guard shortly after high school. After completing his service, his initial idea of how to help people, began to change. He began to focus on finances, something he hoped would fulfill his desire of not only helping people in their financial lives, but also giving back to the community. And for nine months, Justin has been living out that mission as a Consumer Lender at First Central. "I began thinking, at least for me, there was a better way to fulfill my need to help people. If it wasn't safety, I started thinking about one of the biggest stressors in peoples' lives -- financial. Being a community banker offers me the opportunity to help make sure people aren't being taken advantage of, or I can help people set up a simple budget." Justin's desire to help community members, both with financial freedom and volunteering in the community, fits into First Central's mission of making a positive difference in the lives of everyone we touch. "The idea of helping people save money is my favorite thing about my career.   • Thank you to everyone who supported our Grilling For Charity fundraiser in Goose Lake. We raised $2,600 for the?Northeast Community School District?Athletic Boosters through the community's generosity and a Jeans Day throughout our First Central footprint. We appreciate everyone for making this a great fundraiser, and always a fun one, since we always host during homecoming. ----------------- First Central State Bank started the Grilling for Charity fundraisers in 2010. Since its inception, the events have raised tens of thousands of dollars to local non-profits. Last year, First Central State Bank raised more than $14,000 through its Grilling For Charity fundraisers.?

  • Thank you to everyone who supported the DeWitt Theater Company at our recent Grilling For Charity fundraiser in DeWitt. Thanks to your support, we raised more than $2,400 to support the theater's mission to show first run movies and offer concessions at a reasonable cost. ----------------- First Central State Bank started the Grilling for Charity fundraisers in 2010. Since its inception, the events have raised tens of thousands of dollars to local non-profits. Last year, First Central State Bank raised more than $14,000 through its Grilling For Charity fundraisers.
