WWII Veterans Henry Wood, and Henry Langrehr, who celebrated his 100th birthday, joined the ceremony that took place at John Deere Headquarters in the Quad Cities. Lieutenant Colonel Sayers, First Army's Operations Research/Systems Analysis Officer spoke last week at the annual AnitaB.org Grace Hopper Celebration 2024, the world's largest Women's technical conference at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA. Lt. Col. Sayers shared her military perspective with participants from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Wall Street, Hollywood, and Amazon Web Services during her panel titled, "Navigating the AI Landscape: Unraveling Complexities Through Diverse Perspective." Staff Sergeant Waverly B. Woodson Jr. has been awarded the Distinguished Service Cross! Today's ceremony at the U.S. Capitol offered long overdue recognition to the extraordinary heroism of Waverly Woodson. First Army is proud to have been a part of the occasion and the effort to upgrade Woodson's award alongside the Woodson Family, Senator Van Hollen, Ms. Linda Hervieux, Secretary of the Army and the U.S. Army. The ceremony included the Distinguished Service Cross presentation to Joann Woodson and a special presentation by Steve Woodson of Staff Sgt. Woodson's rank to First Army Staff Sgt. Aaron Williams.
