A #FOIAFriday special: today with MSW Media, we sued DOGE for failing to comply with our FOIA request for all digital communications between Elon Musk and DOGE staff. The people deserve to know the how and why behind this opaque govt org.

The First Amendment Coalition and MSW Media today filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. DOGE Service for its failure to respond to a February 25th FOIA request seeking correspondence between Elon Musk and DOGE staff. “The American people have the right to know how the richest man in the world has come to wield such enormous power and influence within the federal government,” said FAC Executive Director David Snyder. “The public deserves — and FAC is demanding — answers.”

FAC's David Loy talked to ABC7 about L.A. Mayor Karen Bass auto-deleting her texts, in violation of the law. "There is no way for the press and public to hold government fully accountable without access to all the information to do that."

FAC Legal Director David Loy calls the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil "immensely frightening," adding, "The First Amendment doesn’t allow the government simply to label you and then prosecute you or deport you just because it doesn’t like what you say.”
