Such an inspiring few days in Orlando at the Loews Portofino Bay Resort for our annual Managing Partner and Chef of the Year Conference.?Dare I say… the best one yet! Not only did we celebrate our teams and their countless achievements, but we also celebrated 25 years of Firebirds Wood Fired Grill! ??? ? We reflected on the past, discussed the present, and got even more FIRED UP ?? about the future.?Our founder Dennis Thompson joined us for this Silver Celebration, and we heard from representatives from our six key stakeholder groups during an insightful panel discussion about the past and how we are all FUELING THE FUTURE together! ? We had a blast celebrating our mission of Creating Extraordinary Experiences through Hospitality at such an extraordinary and experiential venue, and?Universal Orlando Resort enabled us to provide a little extra "movie magic” as we took a journey BACK IN TIME and experienced all the emotions that come along with that journey, complete with a visit from the Doc himself who provided some of his own words of wisdom while I tried to channel my best Marty McFly. Key word… “tried”! ? A record attendance of 253 amazing people engaged in an interactive TA-DA experience with our keynote speaker, Joel Zeff.?Joel had us laughing so hard that it hurt, while sharing important messages about passion, being in the moment, and staying in the game.?I am proud and inspired by our leadership team and the over 5,000 team members that work so hard and remain intently focused on our mission of creating extraordinary experiences, day in and day out. ? Finally, we enjoyed a day in the Universal Studios theme parks, thanks to our incredible partners at The Coca-Cola Company, beginning with a sort-of friendly and very competitive Scavenger Hunt in Islands of Adventure.?I may or may not have gotten a little impatient with some slow-walking Hufflepuffs in Hogwarts as we speed-walked through the park looking for our next clue!?If you are reading this…. With this transition, we're amped to share that Chef Andy Seiple has been promoted to Firebirds' Corporate Executive Chef, leading culinary strategy for our 60+ restaurants across the country. The theme for our annual conference earlier this year was “Ignite your Purpose,” and our teams have truly carried that through the entire year. In 2024, they managed to: ?? Surpass the $4 million fundraising milestone for our partners at Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, ?? Serve first responders at more than 60 police and fire stations on Patriot Day, on top of countless military members and veterans during Armed Forces Week and Veterans Day, ?? Open 5 new Firebirds restaurants in 5 states, leaving previous restaurant opening sales records in the dust, ?? Serve more than 8,700,000 meals to our incredible guests, ?? Execute a new catering program, seasonal features, holiday feasts and an award-winning FIREBAR offering on top of our strong core offerings, ???????? And most importantly, grow and learn from one another, overcome challenges and create extraordinary experiences for the people they work alongside every day. One of the things we love about the area is that our partners at Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation are based nearby.
