What Does the Future Hold for Firefighting? The Can and the Hoseline ?? https://ow.ly/NiGC50VpaTQ The very best application of a water can is when it is backed up by a standard attack line. I’m not suggesting that a pressurized water fire extinguisher should not be used at a structural fire. There is clearly a time and a place for this fire extinguishment tool. The general rule of thumb is to have the correct diameter and length attack hoseline backing up this first-aid device.

Today marks the anniversary of the tragic Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire on March 25, 1911, which claimed the lives of 146 workers—many of them young immigrant women. Locked doors, lack of fire escapes, and poor safety standards turned a preventable fire into a catastrophe. This fire reshaped fire codes and worker safety laws across the country, leading to reforms that firefighters and safety advocates continue to uphold today. As firefighters, we honor their memory by reinforcing the importance of fire safety, building codes, and emergency preparedness. Their loss was not in vain—it serves as a reminder of why we do what we do. The Fire that Changed Everything: Triangle Shirtwaist Fire - https://ow.ly/V9I550VoumW
