One month ago, our team was in Miramar Beach, FL, presenting tutorials and papers at RAMS 2025. We had a good time delving into software reliability, exploring topics like maintainability, covariate NHPP models, and a novel approach to reducing data dimensionality to enhance computational efficiency in software defect classification. It was a great exchange of ideas! A big thank you to all the attendees who joined our talks. We truly appreciate your engagement and insightful discussions! #SoftwareReliability #ReliabilityEngineering #RAMS2025 #UMassDartmouth

We are thrilled to announce that our student, Noah Oikarinen, has successfully defended his Master's thesis on "Terrain Preference Modeling using Bayesian Bradley-Terry for Autonomous Navigation from Human Demonstration." We are delighted that he will continue his journey with us in the lab, pursuing his PhD while working as a Research Fellow at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Congratulations, Noah, and cheers to your next chapters! #UMassDartmouth #ResearchAssistant #AutonomousSystems

Our PhD student, Karen da Mata, received an award for her outstanding poster presentation at DATAWorks 2024, held at the Institute for Defense Analyses last month. In her presentation, Karen discussed methods for collecting relevant data during the training and testing phases of machine learning systems to quantitatively assess the reliability and resilience of these technologies. Congratulations, Karen! Keep up the hard work! #MachineLearning #ReliabilityEngineering #ResilienceEngineering #DataCollection

Earlier this month, our group presented our research on reliability and resilience engineering applied to critical systems, such as ML-enabled systems crucial to DoD operations, at DATAWorks 2024. The event took place at the Institute for Defense Analyses in Alexandria, VA. Our research focuses on leveraging software reliability growth models and advanced statistical techniques to enhance software reliability prediction and system resilience assessment. We also emphasize the benefits of using quantitative models to inform systematic quantitative test and evaluation. We would like to thank the DATAWorks for the opportunity, and the attendees for all feedback and discussion! Special thanks to our advisor Dr. Lance Fiondella, for trusting us to present our work. If you want to hear more about it, don't hesitate to contact us!
