Fintech Is Femme转å‘了
Something that stops me in my tracks? When other women tell me to play small. “You’re too expensive.†“You’re money hungry.†“Why are you asking for that much?†Why does it make people uncomfortable when women know their worth and ask for it? Why do ambitious women—women who refuse to be put into boxes or tamed—make others uneasy? Oh, because we can’t be controlled. Lately, these comments have been popping up more and more, especially since I’ve had the audacity to price the Fintech Is Femme Leadership Summit at a higher value this year. (Yes, we’re expanding, and it’s totally worth it). Fintech Is Femme is not a charity or a nonprofit. It’s a business. Without turning a profit, the purpose I built this platform on wouldn’t exist. Without making money, there wouldn’t be a global stage for women in fintech to share their expertise, and there wouldn’t be an industry-leading newsletter, podcast, or event series amplifying women-led innovation. As a two-year-old startup I bootstrapped and turned into a profitable business with my partner Anton Briones I refuse to lower my standards because of anyone. And honestly, it hurts when it comes from women. But here’s the bright side: The women who get it—the ones in the Fintech Is Femme community, the ones who show up, contribute, and push each other forward—they see the value right away. So here’s my takeaway: Pay women what they’re worth. ?? The blood, sweat, and tears that go into building a platform, hosting a summit, and creating media at this scale is priceless. Don’t insult women by calling them “too expensive†their work, their value, their vision? It’s worth every penny. And for my fellow founders: Focus on your customers, partners, and clients who get it. Stop wasting time educating those who won’t see your vision. Double down on the people who are in your corner—that’s where growth happens. If you’re ready to be surrounded by 500+ women (and a few very smart men) who will teach you how to: play big, take risks, get uncomfortable, and grow in ways you never expected—while making more money doing business differently—then this is your moment. We’re ditching the “girlboss†fluff and delivering straight-up strategy, tactics, and the real deal from women who’ve: been there, built that, and are doing business on their own terms. Don’t miss it.
