Look, we’ve all been there—sending that 18th revision with a side of “I could do this in my sleep” (don’t act like you haven’t). But here’s the thing: kindness is secret sauce for creativity.     One of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned? Shape your expertise. While it’s important to have a range of skills, clarity is key. When someone reviews your resume, they should immediately understand who you are and what you excel at—without needing to search for it. Too often, at Fintech Digital I come across resumes that are scattered, making it hard to see the focus or passion behind the experiences listed. If your experience seems all over the place, it can raise questions about where your true strengths lie. Instead, think of your resume as a story: it should make it clear what drives you and where your strengths shine. When that happens, it becomes easier to see that you're not just applying for a job, but that you're ready to thrive in a role and grow with it.     Performance-Based Interviewing (PBI) is the gold standard for one simple reason: it cuts through the noise. Anyone can rehearse answers or talk about why they’d be a good fit for a role. But PBI does something different—it digs deeper. It asks candidates to explain, with real-world examples, how they’ve acted in specific situations. Why does this matter? Because how someone handled a challenge in the past is a strong predictor of how they’ll handle a challenge in the future. It’s not about hypothetical scenarios; it’s about real experience, real actions, and real results. At Fintech Digital, we use PBI because it reveals more than just confidence in an interview—it shows character. It shows how a person makes decisions, how they navigate complexity, and most importantly, how they execute under pressure. You can't fake a story of how you’ve actually solved a problem, led a team, or managed a crisis. And that’s the insight we’re after. Interviews shouldn’t be a test of how well someone can talk their way into a role. They should show whether the candidate has the skills to back it up.
