The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the POST (Peace Officers Standards and Training) Conference Center in Sandy. With over 30 agencies from rural to city departments to state agencies, attendees will be able to explore and learn about unique units, including K9, Bike, Drones, and more. Department Spotlight: Lone Peak Police: Lone Peak Police has a unique division within its department called Volunteers in Police Service (V.I.P.S.) Program. This program is made up of four citizens from the Alpine and Highland communities. The volunteers patrol our community and are tasked with completing extra patrols in residential and business areas, VIN inspections, and traffic control, along with many other civil enforcement responsibilities.
