What a ride the last weekend of February was! ???? From the 23rd to the 25th, 2024 - My team, The Huskies, and I embarked on a 3-day journey through the DASSH Student Design Challenge 2024. This wasn't just any competition; it was a mission to design actionable solutions for a secure homeland, sponsored by the leaders in security innovation: Soft Target Engineering to Neutralize the Threat Reality, Center for Accelerating Operational Efficiency (CAOE) DHS Science and Technology Directorate U.S. Department of Homeland Security Every moment was a learning curve, packed with intense collaboration and creative problem-solving. We delved into scenarios of cascading events, where the stakes of cyber-attacks, natural disasters, and human-engineered threats felt all too real. Leading this incredible team John Yethi Rajulu Batthula Likhitha Anuganti Sahita B. Hari Chandana Kannuru ROHIT VARMA MUDUNDI through sleepless nights and endless brainstorming sessions was an experience I’ll never forget. It tested our limits, challenged our creativity, and ultimately, brought us closer together. A huge shoutout to Kristin Hicks and Tiffany Lam from SENTRY, Amy Bennett, PMP, Anthony Kuhn, Zachary Spencer from CAOE, and our mentors from the Department of Homeland Security. Your guidance was the north star that led our ideas to fruition. ???? This achievement is more than a win; it's a testament to the strength of collaboration, the importance of mentorship, and the relentless pursuit of innovation. I'm immensely proud of what we achieved and excited for what the future holds. ?? A special thanks to Rachel Rufo for capturing our journey in her fantastic article for SENTRY.
