Racial and ethnic health disparities persist in the US, driven by inequities in access and utilization, as well as social determinants of health. From 2019 to 2022, coverage gains among racial and ethnic groups were largely due to increased Medicaid enrollment. However, the end of the continuous enrollment provision could disproportionately affect people of color. KFF’s report digs into the efforts being made to advance health equity and address health disparities, but this work is just the beginning - and is in danger of being blocked.
