We had another week filled with great opportunities for our members! Here are some of our highlights… ?? J.P. Morgan ?? Commercial Banking Info Session Professionals from J.P. Morgan’s Middle Market Banking & Specialized Industries team came to speak with our members about their Commercial Banking program and early career opportunities. They gave us insight into the different responsibilities of the credit, treasury, and banking roles, as well as the variety of specialized industries in their middle market division - including government, health, non-profit, higher education, technology & disruptive commerce, and more! ?? Raymond James ?? Panel & Info Session Representatives from Raymond James hosted an engaging panel, where professionals shared their career journeys and offered insightful advice on how to succeed in the industry. We also got to hear about what it’s like to work at Raymond James and learned about their early careers programs. ?? Closing Bell Speaker Series ?? Featuring Max Oligario Our members got to hear from Max Oligario, Market Executive of Global Commercial Banking from Bank of America, about his career journey and experience working at prestigious banks like J.P. Morgan and Bank of America. He spoke about his role within the Middle Market and the world of Commercial Banking, sharing how him and his team help companies grow from small businesses to larger corporations. ?? Career Development Workshop #2 ?? Securing an Internship We hosted our second career development workshop of the semester, where we guided members through each step of the internship process. Members learned about unique platforms that share job postings and interview preparation materials. We also gave advice on how to reach out to recruiters, polish up their resumes, and tackle interview questions. Our workshop concluded with interactive Excel training, where we shared important skills and tips for the platform.

?? This past week with FMA: ?? Career Development Workshop #1 ?? Careers In Finance We hosted our first workshop of the semester, where our members learned about the various career paths within the finance industry, how to break into them, and the responsibilities of each. We also gave an overview on resume-building and professionalizing LinkedIn profiles, just in time for the Seminole Futures Career Fair and Business Career Expo this week! ?? Bruning Speaker Series ?? Featuring Chris Spencer On Thursday, we got to meet with Chris Spencer, the Executive Director of the Florida State Board of Administration. Mr. Spencer gave us insight into his career journey and current financial markets, as well as how the State Board of Administration invests, manages, and safeguards assets of the Florida Retirement System Trust Fund. ?? Fisher Investments Info Session Our members got to learn about career opportunities with Fisher Investments, an investment management firm that offers investment strategies focused on long-term growth and a customized approach to managing wealth. ?? Relay for Life 5K Run We wrapped up our week with the Relay for Life 5K, where a handful of our members got to run on behalf of FMA and support this great cause!

?? New York City Corporate Tour, Day 3?? On our final day in New York City, our members had the opportunity to visit Wells Fargo, where we toured the trading floor and got to hear from various employees about the bank. Spence Townsend and Katie Kercheval gave us a presentation on the Commercial Bank and spoke about their roles as relationship managers within the Middle Market. We also got to hear from panelists Edward Liberman, Jeffrey Khoury, and Brendan Poe, who gave us insight into credit trading, commercial real estate financing, and investment banking, as well as recent deals that they worked on and the rise of M&A. Our tour ended with an incredible networking opportunity, where 15+ analysts came to meet with our members. We are so grateful for everyone who took the time to speak with us, this was truly a valuable experience! Thank you to Matt Olson, Jessie Ting, and Natalie Savic Vulakh for hosting our members! We would also like to thank Kelsey Syvrud, PhD and the FSU Finance Department for their support in making this trip a success!

??New York City Corporate Tour, Day 2?? During our second day in New York City, our members had the opportunity to tour the New York Stock Exchange, hosted by the NYSE’s Regional Lead for the Northeast Territory, Eric Criscuolo. Mr. Criscuolo spoke about the fascinating history behind the New York Stock Exchange, from the listing of the first stocks and George Washington’s Inauguration, to the market crashes throughout the years and digitization of trading. Our members also got to go on the floor, where we watched Kyndryl participate in the Opening Bell, as well as Jim Cramer, Carl Quintanilla, and David Faber recording Squawk on the Street live. Additionally, our members gained a deeper understanding into the reality of working as a broker on trading floor through our conversation with Ned Zelles, head of GTS Corporate Services, who spoke to us about high frequency trading and the rise of algorithmic trading. We wrapped up our day with a social, where our members networked with FSU alumni living in the city and heard about their experience as recent graduates working as business professionals. Thank you Eric Criscuolo for always being supportive and taking the time to host our members these last three years. We would also like to thank all of the alumni who came to the social, as well as Kelsey Syvrud, PhD & the FSU Finance Department for giving us this opportunity.

??New York City Corporate Tour, Day 1?? On the first day of our New York City Corporate Tour, we had the exciting opportunity to visit two of the world’s leading financial institutions: Citi and Goldman Sachs. At Citi, Jemila Smith gave us an in-depth overview of Citi and their business operations. We then got to hear from panelists Juan Fernandez, Connor Thompson, Rafael Suarez, Nathan Mayor, and Catherine Samia, who shared their personal career journeys within wealth management, internal audit, corporate finance, risk management, and HR. Next, we visited Goldman Sachs, where Elmira Nikocevic introduced our members to the company and gave an overview on the internship timeline. We then heard from several professionals in the natural resources group, including Peyton Sadler, Zoey Wang, Roshni Padhi, and Kalle Meehan. Our members got to learn about the current and volatile market of natural resources, and the important role that investment banking plays in it. To conclude our day, we had the opportunity to attend a dinner with FSU professor, Principal of Tangent Capital, and partner at Rice Partners - Bob Rice. Mr. Rice shared his insight on wealth management, with emphasis on the great wealth transfer, as well as the importance of alternative investments. We are incredibly grateful to Citi, Goldman Sachs, and Bob Rice taking the time to meet with our members and offer such comprehensive insights. A big thank you to Kelsey Syvrud, PhD and the FSU Finance Department for making this tour possible!

The Financial Management Association kicked off the Spring 2025 semester with a General Body Meeting, welcoming over 200 students. We shared our agenda for the Spring semester, including our Executive Board Shadowing Program, corporate tours, guest speakers, and networking events! Thank you to Gary Bliss, Kelsey Syvrud, PhD, and the FSU Finance Department for their guidance and support, as well as to our incredible executive board and all of the members who attended last night. We look forward to another exciting semester with you all!

Our final General Body Meeting of the semester was a huge success! We hosted a Round Robin event with five amazing speakers, where our members got to rotate throughout different rooms and hear from each of these professionals: ? Jamie Wright, CFA, CFP?, Wealth Management Advisor for Merrill Lynch ? Jennifer Durden, CFO of Champions First Credit Union ? Brock Howard, CFA, CAIA, Portfolio Manager at the State Board of Administration ? Salmaan Wahidi, Commercial Finance and Capital Planning at CSX ? Niki Armstrong, Institutional Distribution for Artisan Partners After the presentations, our meeting concluded with pizza and networking! A huge thank you to the FSU Finance Department and all of the students & professionals who attended our last GBM - it was a great way to end the semester!

??Atlanta Corporate Tour, Day 3?? On the final day of our trip to Atlanta, we had the privilege of going to Bank of America and meeting with professionals in their Global Commercial Banking and Private Banking sectors. Max Oligario gave members an in-depth overview of Global Commercial Banking at BofA and the Middle Market branch. We also got to hear from FSU alumni, Valarie Asbury and Tony Hilliard on their career journeys and experience with the bank. Danielle Haley, Tom McKinstry, and Dylan Rustemeyer participated in a panel discussion, where our members got to learn about working in Global Commercial Banking and what it’s like being a relationship manager for a commercial bank. Finally, our tour concluded with Whirlington Anderson III and Taylor Shivers, two young Commercial Associates in the GCB sector who shared relatable insight to our members on what life looks like post-grad and how to set oneself up for success in this industry. We couldn’t have done this without the help of the FSU Finance Department and all of the professionals who took the time to speak to our members – thank you to everyone who contributed to making this trip a success!

??Atlanta Corporate Tour, Day 2?? Last Tuesday, our members got to visit Invesco US at their global headquarters in Atlanta. We were welcomed by Elizabeth Dowdell, CFA, Senior Product Strategy Manager, and Matthew Koch, Early Career Program Manager, who introduced us to the company’s operations as a global investment firm and all of the early career opportunities they offer. We also got to hear from Linda Allen, Head of Global Equity Syndicate, and how she manages the equities, derivatives, and syndicate teams within Invesco. Our members also had the opportunity to be on the trading floor and hear from different professionals on their roles and investment strategies. The Undergraduate Investment Group at FSU gave their stock pitches and received insightful feedback from Stephanie J. Larosiliere, Bixby O. Stewart, and Sarah Boger. We also got to hear from panelists Amanda Lambert, Justin Nguyen, and Kidus Asrat on their career journeys with Invesco and involvement in Business Resource Groups – employee-led groups that provide opportunities for networking, leadership, volunteering, and even recreational activities like IM sports. Our tour concluded with a product strategy and pricing simulation, led by Elizabeth Dowdell, Kyle Zandi, CFA, and Tandra A Terrell, where our members got first-hand experience in the research and process that goes into deciding how Invesco’s mutual fund products are priced. ??Atlanta Corporate Tour, Day 1?? With the support of the FSU Finance Department, members of the Financial Management Association at FSU had the opportunity to meet with Artisan Partners in their Atlanta office. Daniel Kane, CFA Portfolio Manager, Craig Inman, CFA Portfolio Manager, and Scott Hall, CFA Investment Analyst gave us insight into Artisan’s investment philosophy – buying quality companies at a bargain. They emphasized the importance of value over growth and how they see volatility as an opportunity. Two teams from the Undergraduate Investment Group at FSU had the opportunity to give stock pitches in front of the team at Artisan Partners, and they received valuable insight from the professionals on how to strengthen their analytical approaches. We also got to hear from Kyle Josephson, Associate Director in Intermediary Distribution, on the role of a wholesaler and how to succeed in this career. Our members learned about the different channels of distribution and how distributors work closely with clients to provide them the products that best suit their needs. A huge thank you to Niki Armstrong for making this possible, and to all of the professionals who took the time to share their expertise with our members!
