Last night, the Finance Association hosted five amazing panelists, UH alums Brandi Henry, Ly Nguyen, Patrick Mikkelsen, Samuel Kamat , and Professor Alexander Lara, CTP, MBA, for the Commercial Banking Career Panel! They shared their journeys from UH to their current careers, provided insightful information about opportunities within the commercial banking industry, and offered valuable lessons and advice for students interested in commercial banking, as well as those unsure about their future careers. This week, the Finance Association had the great privilege of hosting VIP panelists, Janko Trenkoski, CFA, CFP?, CAIA, Jessica Seff, CFA, Tammira Philippe, Carl Albrecht, P.E., CFA, Lay (Yonghui) Huang CFA, CFP?, EA from CFA Houston Society! Our panelists provided valuable information and benefits of becoming a CFA, and their journey & experiences of how they became a CFA, and how it empowered their careers. It's great to have our alums back here at the UH & FA! This week, the FA hosted the first FA Alumni event of the semester. Our alums shared their experiences in their careers, their journey from the UH to their current career, and advice for our members! Yesterday, FA participated in the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Walk/Run event with other Bauer student organizations to raise funds and to promote the opportunity to help kids with cancer and other life-threatening diseases! Thank you, FA members & Bauer students, for participating in this meaningful event! We reached our fundraising goal!

Yesterday, FA hosted amazing guests from Frost Bank! Our members learned about Frost Bank's philosophy, culture, values, and Associate Relationship Manager opportunity along with summer internship! Thank you Alandra G., Travis Bell, and Abigail Abalos for providing this great opportunity to learn more about Frost bank and answering questions from our members!

This week, FA had the great privilege of hosting Ahmed Ali and Kate Scaief from Amegy Bank. Also, our members had an incredible opportunity to visit Amegy Tower! FA members were able to learn more about the role of banks, the Banker Development Program, culture, and values of Amegy Bank from both events. Thank you Mr.Ali and Ms.Scaief for visiting the FA. Our members were excited to learn about Amegy Bank and network with you afterward. And thank you, Lisa Barth, Jillian Levi, Brigitte Nguyen, MBA, and Ariana Almaguer for sharing your experiences and answering our questions at the panel! Lastly, thank you, Alyona Dodson and Nicole Wells for allowing us to host Amegy Bank on campus and invite us to Amegy Tower! We truly enjoyed our time with Amegy!

Recently, the Finance Association visited Linde in the Woodlands to develop a new relationship and introduce our Corporate Sponsorship Opportunity! FA officers had the chance to learn more about Linde and discuss what FA could potentially offer with the sponsorship. We sincerely appreciate Linde for allowing us to have this wonderful opportunity. We are very excited to host you and meet our members in the fall semester! Introducing our President SungYun Kim (Paul)! SungYun (Paul) Kim is a senior majoring in Finance and Accounting. He served as Alumni Relation Officer, Treasury Director, and Vice President in the past. This semester, He will be serving as President. SungYun is very much looking forward to leading the journey of empowering members of the FA? with fellow FA officers. He wants to maximize his ability to create opportunities for other students to learn and grow in the University of Houston and in the Finance Association.? SungYun is very passionate about finance analysis and credit analysis. He is planning on pursuing a career in Commercial banking after graduation.?

Introducing our Vice President Jacy Norris! Jacy Norris is a senior majoring in Finance with a focus on Personal Financial Planning and a minor in Entrepreneurship. She joined the Finance Association in Fall 2023 and will be serving as our Vice President for Fall 2024. Jacy is passionate about promoting financial literacy and empowering others to make informed financial decisions. After graduation, she aspires to be a CFP? professional to help individuals and families achieve their financial goals.?
