One of the best parts of freelancing is working alongside so many talented people in so many different industries! I spent last Friday in Leeds filming on behalf of Film Buddy with Ben Sweet and the team for the University Centre Leeds. We had some great conversations about the realities of freelancing - the uncertainty, the rewards, and everything in between. Excited for this project to come together!???

A few weeks ago, we hosted a film industry meet-up (diversity & inclusion) delivered by the British Film Institute (BFI) & Film Buddy Online. The evening brought together key folks from across the world of film and Leeds Beckett students to discuss the important topic of diversity & inclusion, encouraging equality of opportunity and addressing under-representation in the screen industries The event took place in the dazzling Leeds School of Arts, Leeds Beckett University building, with live student music, drinks and one of his world-famous tours from Steve Mardy. A group of aspiring?Film and TV Production?students from Northumbria University have put their skills into practice, producing an impactful film for a local charity ?? As part of the experiential learning offering at Northumbria,?Film Buddy Online?pitched a brief to the students to produce a short film showcasing North East-based charity, Feeding Families (UK) and the important work they do for the local community ? Founder and Company Director of Film Buddy, Ben Sweet said: “It’s been great to work with a group of talented and ambitious students at Northumbria. Working with a charity close to home has allowed them to witness the impact of their work first hand, which is a powerful thing to see.
