We are super proud of our vice president, strategy and projects, Jason Scheopner, who has graduated from Filene Research Institute i3. ?? This two-year innovation leadership program equips top credit union professionals with the mindset, tools, and network to lead and shape the future. Scheopner was accepted into the cohort-based program, where he worked in cross-functional teams to explore and address some of credit unions’ most pressing challenges identified by Filene’s Think Tank. “During my time in i3, I have learned through experience that iteration, feedback, and adaptability are critical to successful innovation,” says Scheopner. The projects he worked on were Conversion Concierge, a member engagement and onboarding process tool, and Plentitude. This digital platform connects millennials with wealth advisors and provides personalized financial guidance. Congratulations on this accomplishment, Jason! ?? #centrisfcu #creditunion #filene

    VP Strategy, DEI & Sustainability

It’s hard to believe that my credit union journey began just three years ago! Within that first year I attended my first Filene Research Institute big.bright.minds and was inspired by the innovative projects coming out of the i3 program. When Jason Werts approached me to apply to the i3 program I jumped on the opportunity! And I'm glad I did! Over the past two years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting credit union professionals across the country through i3, and I’m grateful to call them friends. This experience has been both inspiring and transformative, and I can’t wait to see how we all continue to make an impact. Special shoutout to Maddie Gunderson for the customized Funko Pop as an i3 grad present!

Manager of Asset Recovery @ Zeal Credit Union | Community Engagement

Today, I have officially graduated Filene Research Institute i3 program. I am not the same person that I was prior to entering this program. We can definitely use more smiles and positivity. McKaye Black, thank you for such an amazing year 2! What you shared today, not to let perfection get in the way of progress, is something that I will not forget. To remain relevant you have to constantly pivot and keep pushing, and challenge boundaries! • As a decentralized, peer-to-peer network that does not rely on a single, centralized authority, blockchain has the potential to change the way credit unions think about secondary markets. How can your credit union take advantage of this innovation? Our 25-minute brief, “Introducing LoanNFT, a Blockchain Solution for the Secondary Loan Market”, explores LoanNFT, a blockchain-based prototype developed over the past year through a partnership with Fellow Dr. Lamont Black and FiLab. LoanNFT seeks to enhance the efficiency of the secondary loan market, creating a decentralized, shared database for loan transactions, eliminating the need for centralized intermediaries and reducing costs. Discover how credit unions are actively exploring this technology through real-world use cases! • ? Who was next to sponsor Filene's new Center of Excellence for Member Well-Being? ? Thank you to Wright-Patt Credit Union! Credit unions understand that highly satisfied and engaged employees leads to highly satisfied and engaged members, through the ability to deliver better service. Yet for the past 5 years, employee engagement has struggled across all industries, forcing workplaces to rethink solutions to enhance their employee well-being. According to Gallup Data, employee engagement in the U.S. fell to its lowest level in a decade in 2024, with only 31% of employees engaged. Also, stress levels are at an all-time high, with 41% of employees experiencing significant daily stress. Tim Mislansky, President & CEO of Wright-Patt Credit Union shared his reasons for supporting this new center: “Every day we hear stories from members about their financial struggles and challenges in making ends meet. The need for holistic well-being strategies has never been greater and credit unions are needed now more than ever. We are in a unique position to support our members and employees not just financially, but in ways that improve their overall quality of life. We’re excited to contribute to research that will provide actionable solutions for credit unions to enhance member and employee well-being during these challenging times.” ???Get involved and learn more about this new Center at: https://lnkd.in/ea_WVcJn
