Our leaders and department managers are coming off an impactful two-day leadership retreat at The Lodge at St. Edward State Park, and they’re full of renewed energy from the intentional time spent together! ?? Having so many of our stakeholders come together to work on our vision of company growth and having Fikes become a winning culture was incredible. Everyone in the room had so much passion and energy, and they’re ready to take that back to their teams so we can make this our best year yet! ?? To make things even more special, our very first employee, Chuck McElrath, came out to inspire us as we take our company to the next level! For those who don’t know Chuck, he joined our CEO Mark Sims in the early days of Fikes to help him bring his dream of building a company centered on people to life. He had already retired when he met Mark and said he could only give him two years – Those two years quickly turned into 15, and Chuck became a living legend within Fikes. We even have a yearly award named after him that recognizes the winners on our team who live our Core Values day in and day out! We’re beyond grateful to have someone like him in our lives who truly embodies what our company is all about and drives all of us to do the same. We also have to give a shout out to the team at The Lodge at St. Edward Park and the Columbia Hospitality group behind them for the incredible hospitality we were shown during our stay ?? Everyone was so kind, the rooms were pristine (we know a thing or two about what makes a space clean and inviting ??), the gymnasium was the perfect setting for our pickleball tournament, and the FOOD… From the onsite restaurant Cedar + Elm to the catering provided for our meeting space, they exceeded our expectations by far.
