Too many young girls, especially in underserved communities, still face barriers to playing sports. At Fight For Children, we’re changing that through programs like Early Access to Sports (E.A.T.S.), ensuring every child gets the chance to play, grow, and lead. ?? Why it matters: -Girls in sports build confidence, leadership, and resilience. -By age 14, girls drop out of sports twice as often as boys. -Early exposure and social-emotional learning (SEL) help keep them engaged. ?? Read more about how we’re breaking barriers for girls in sports! #GirlsInSports #YouthDevelopment #EquityInSports #Fight4Children #EATSProgram

It’s been a month since we launched E.A.T.S. with 2-4-1 Sports and District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), introducing 1st and 2nd graders at Garfield Elementary (Ward 8) to sports like lacrosse and flag football—with many more to come! The energy and excitement have been incredible! As we celebrate Women’s History Month, we recognize that early exposure to sports builds resilience, confidence, and leadership skills—especially for young girls who often face barriers to participation. Programs like E.A.T.S. are key to ensuring equitable access to play for all kids. A huge thank you to our partners, coaches, and educators for making this possible. Let’s keep breaking barriers in youth sports! ?? How did sports shape your journey? Share in the comments! ?? #EquityInSports #EATS #YouthDevelopment #SportsForAll #Fight4Children

Fight For Children and 2-4-1 CARE, in partnership with DC Public Schools, has launched Early Access to Sports (E.A.T.S.), a free afterschool sports sampling program at Garfield Elementary School. Designed for 1st and 2nd graders, E.A.T.S. creates a fun, supportive environment where young students explore multiple sports, build confidence, and develop healthy habits through play and nutrition education. The program kicked off with a training session for coaches, a family event, and the first lacrosse sessions with Winners Lacrosse. More sports experiences are coming soon as we continue expanding access to quality youth sports opportunities. We’re just getting started—stay tuned for more exciting sports experiences. The power of play is real, and we can’t wait to show you how access to sports can change lives. #EATSProgram #EarlyAccessToSports #YouthDevelopment #FightForChildren #SportsForAll #PlayForAll #DCPS
