Ramadan Mubarak! ?? #RamadanMubarak Here's what Ramadan means to Fieldwork's very own Bisma Zafar: Ramadan is a time of reflection, gratitude, and cherished traditions. Growing up, my siblings and I would stay up after suhoor (the pre-dawn meal before fasting) playing Jenga and other games until we fell back asleep—some of my favorite memories. I still love the little things that make this month special, like events at the mosque, eating and drinking special foods like potato rolls and Rooh Afsa, to planning for Eid (the celebration that marks the end of Ramadan) and picking out beautiful outfits to celebrate. But most of all, Ramadan reminds me how much I have to be grateful for. There are billions of people around the world who do not have the choice to fast, and that inspires me to give more and support those in need. Wishing everyone a month filled with peace, community, and kindness. Ramadan Mubarak!
