Our belief that people are the greatest asset of a nonprofit organization calls us to help people who have found their vocation in the social sector develop their talents, skills, and ability to impact others. Thus, strengthening nonprofit leadership is the focus of the Fieldstone Leadership Network San Diego. Created in 1994, the Fieldstone Leadership Network was crafted in response to and in partnership with nonprofit executives as a vehicle for peer learning. This Network has evolved into an innovative continuum of leadership programs based on what is required for social sector leaders to succeed: *Personal Capacity: The leadership capacity of a nonprofit executive plays a critical role in the organization’s overall ability to fulfill its mission. *A Trusted Network: Nonprofit leaders require a trusted cohort of fellow professionals to be a resource and ally in their work. *Diversity in Continuous Learning: Nonprofit leaders need multi-generational and cross-sector learning opportunities to expand their perspectives and manage staff effectively. Our programs are designed to provide the brave space to develop one's personal leadership talents while addressing organizational challenges and building a trusted network of nonprofit peers. As a leadership learning community, the Fieldstone Leadership Network San Diego is not a one-time training experience but an ongoing reciprocal community of nonprofit leaders committed to their own development and the development of their peers with the ultimate goal of amplifying our impact of our work.

  • This is a first look at the challenges being faced by local San Diego nonprofits as a result of our new federal government. Thank you to The Nonprofit Institute at USD for leading this work, which will continue to track developments with weekly check ins. And thank you to the over 400 nonprofit leaders who participated in the survey and shared their experiences during a very tumultuous time.   • In the spirit of reciprocity, Karen Roth, a graduate of our LAUNCH program and current member of our Executive Learning Group, facilitated her Happiness 101 program for her Fieldstone program mates. Working with her partner, Tsitsi Moyo, the interactive workshop on "whole person wellbeing" explored diverse definitions of happiness and facilitated conversations to further our understanding of its function in everyday life. They offered tools we can use to develop, nurture and maintain "happiness" according to the things we value most in our individual lives. It was such a beautiful gift, especially right now. In appreciation, we presented Karen and Tsi Tsi, with cairns of their very own.

  • As part of our Fieldstone Coaching Program, each of our coachees has now completed their 360-degree review—a powerful milestone in their yearlong coaching journey! The 360-degree review gathers feedback from colleagues, supervisors, and direct reports, providing a comprehensive and candid look at leadership strengths and opportunities for growth. This reflective process is invaluable for leaders, helping them: ? Gain a full-circle perspective on their impact ? Identify blind spots and areas for development ? Strengthen communication and trust within teams ? Foster intentional growth to lead with clarity and confidence This process is not just about assessment—it’s about transformation. By embracing feedback, our leaders are stepping forward with greater self-awareness, resilience, and purpose. We are proud of their commitment to growth and grateful for the opportunity to support them on this journey.
