Our very own James Seaman and Sara Melton, presented “The Power of Alignment: Aligning Learning Goals, Activities, and Place”—diving deep into the idea of an Aligned Learning Ecosystem and how intentional design can amplify student success. When educators from the Frankfurt International School in Germany set out to find a model school that redefines learning environments, their journey led to Cranston, Rhode Island. Last week, a team of international educators visited Garden City Elementary School, designed by Fielding International, to experience firsthand how its innovative and flexible learning spaces inspire creativity, collaboration, and engagement. From light-filled, adaptable classrooms to a thoughtfully designed, acoustically balanced environment, Garden City has become a global benchmark for 21st-century learning. “They have reshaped what a school can be.” – Jean-Marie Kahn, Principal, Frankfurt International School This visit reaffirms the impact of learner-centered design—spaces that not only optimize student learning but also bring communities together, forging connections that transcend geography.
