Since 2001, Fickett Structural Solutions, Inc. has been serving both public and private clients in the A/E/C Industry in the building, transportation and infrastructure markets by providing structural inspections and evaluations, NDT, steel fabrication quality assurance inspections, welding and fabrication consultation, and technical training. This work ranges from large civil infrastructure projects, such as bridges and locks and dams, to major commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings, parking structures, stadiums and arenas, to ancillary support structures for lighting and signage. We are involved in bridge construction oversight through independent technical reviews of design and fabrication drawings as well as field inspections; analysis and consultation on welded and high strength bolted connections. To supplement our inspection services, we have an extensive rope access program governed by the Society of Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) with all three levels of certification. Our team members are also instructors for several classes that are offered by FHWA/NHI in addition to developing and presenting our in-house welding and bolting seminars. Last week, Carter Bohn and Jordan Budiac traveled around South Dakota to perform ultrasonic testing of bridge pins for the South Dakota Department of Transportation. This was Jordan's first time doing ultrasonic pin inspections, with Carter teaching him the proper techniques. Rain and winter weather this month were not enough to stop Michael Beglin and Noah Boehnen from completing a timber condition inspection on the historic Dungeness River Bridge in Sequim, WA. Their inspection results will be used as part of an extensive rehabilitation project led by the Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe. This rails-to-trails timber trestle bridge is rich in heritage. It serves as a central gathering point for the community, welcoming walkers, runners, and cyclists, and hosting various local events.
