Music has a unique power to connect, heal, and inspire—especially for DHH children. Here’s what Erika Cowhey, one of our music therapy teachers had to say: “The music therapy program at FHSR is truly one-of-a-kind. It’s led by not one, but two board-certified music therapists, which allows for more personalized attention and helps meet each child’s needs at the same time. Through fun and engaging musical interventions, the therapists work on communication, social-emotional skills, auditory discrimination, and early literacy skills. Her professional journey took a personal turn when her son was diagnosed with hearing loss due to meningitis, sparking a deep passion for supporting families navigating similar challenges.
