All kids need to see themselves represented in the books they read. Not only does this contribute to their confidence, identity development, and self-esteem, but it also shows kids that they are important and that their stories are important, too. Wondering where to start and what to read with your deaf or hard of hearing child? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Sign up for our Early Childhood Literacy Workshop here: https://lnkd.in/gTwanmSg And Find our top reading recommendations, listed by age group, here: https://lnkd.in/ghmGaEdP #FHSR #CHS #reading #read #books #hearinglossawareness #hearinglosskids #childrenwithhearingloss #dhhkids #hardofhearing

FHSR is proud to be among the founding launch partners for DAF Day (10/10), a new kind of giving day that redefines how donor-advised funds are used and who uses them. A DAF (donor advised fund) is a charitable investment account that allows donors to support charities by contributing assets and recommending grants. If you have a DAF, please consider recommending FHSR. For all the information you'll need, contact?Kate Spelman?at [email protected]. Don't have a DAF? You're not alone! Only about 17% of the general population has one, but they're growing in popularity. Talk to your bank or financial advisor about whether a DAF might be right for you and your giving goals. #fhsr #donor #daf #dafday #launch #partnership #founder #grants #donoradvisedfund

Thank you to the marvelous Eva Lopez and Advanced Bionics for their support of FHSR and our Rock the Town for Hearing event!
Last Saturday my mom and I attended the Foundation for Hearing & Speech Resources (FHSR) #RockTheTown fundraiser event to continue providing music scholarships to children with hearing loss. We had a blast supporting a great cause! If you know any families who would benefit from music classes (which double up as aural rehabilitation!), please connect them with this amazing organization!
