Founded in 1954, FHM Insurance Company is a long-standing workers’ comp carrier in the industry. FHM originally began as the Florida Hotel-Motel Self Insurer’s Fund eventually converting to a mutual insurer in 1996 as FHM Insurance Company. Since its conversion, FHM has significantly diversified, insuring employers in a wide variety of industries. FHM Insurance has also grown to write coverage in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. FHM is known for its history in the workers’ comp market, its disciplined underwriting practices, hands on risk management services and claims handling, and strong partnerships with independent agents. This is evidenced by the large percentage of policyholders who return year after year. Adding a new chapter to the company’s history, in 2020 FHM Insurance Company was acquired by LUBA Casualty Insurance Company providing an additional coverage option to its policyholders and agency partners. Together, FHM and LUBA share over a century of history, knowledge, and expertise in the workers’ comp industry.
