“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.” - Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 Great leaders understand that success is not achieved alone. Collaborative leadership multiplies impact. #FHLindy teaches that The Strength of Partnerships is essential to sustaining and expanding the impact of missional food pantries. This model recognizes that no pantry should rely solely on one source of charitable food supply. Drawing from Ecclesiastes 4 and 1 Corinthians 12, FHL encourages building a network of support where churches, volunteers, residents, and organizations work together toward a unified mission. This participatory approach begins with relationships—fostering trust, collaboration, and shared ownership. By nurturing a culture of mutual encouragement and interdependence, #missional #foodpantries become more than distribution sites; they grow into vibrant, hope-filled communities invested in the long-term welfare and transformation of their neighborhoods. #Collaborations and #Partnerships create strength, resilience, and better outcomes.

In 2005, God birthed #FHLIndy. In 2009, we started training and establishing #missional food pantries. And here’s what happened… Out of 70 that we trained to be missional food pantries and neighborhood hubs, we help established 60 of them. Not everyone other are still food pantries but many of them are now functioning as mission hubs in their own communities. It is amazing when you turn obstacles as part of your way to your mission, train your brain with a Kingdom mindset and relentless pursuit of knowledge, wisdom and excellence. Below are the "missional food pantries and missional neighborhood hubs that #FHLIndy has trained and helped establish: Palmer St. Food Pantry B & G Club, Pantry of Hope, Troy Ave B & G Club, E. 24th St Shiloh MBC Signs of Christ Boulevard/40th Mt Nebo MBC Cross church Divine Direction (SoBro) Greater Gethsemane MBC Nu Corinthian Baptist Zion Hope University UMC Pantry of Faith, Iglesia Pentecostal Pantry of Love, Monte de Sion Westside Baptist Church Indy Vineyard Church Ft Wayne Hispanic Church, Pastor Cardona Paws Pantry IUPUI New Wine Skin - Woodruff Cross Church Hosanna Casa de Alabanza Manos de Jesus, Marion Manos de Jesus, Anderson The Cross Project Arca de Dios La Gran Luz Getsemani Iglesia Vino Nuevo Iglesia Misericordia The Beautiful Temple The Good Pastor Jesus Cristo es mi Refugio West Refugio Jehovah Jireh East La Vida Refugee Center Westfield Latino (Lamong) St Vincent - Neighborhood Hub Resurrection church Fay Biccard neighborhood 25th Baptist church New Direction church Faithful Hands Ministries, Beck MLK Center Indy Mobile pantry Philippine Cultural Center HealthNet DIP-In East Manantial de Vida Iglesia Ebenezer Greater Missions church Abundant Nueva Vida, at w86th New Beginning Int'l Ministries Progressive Life Ministries Solid Word church Hawthorn place Apartment SEND Network, neighborhood pantry Mercy Seat, Eric Whitaker Starbucks Drive-thru We all care street pantry New Era Baptist Allegiance church, Haitian Nigerian church closeby Midwest food bank Esperanza Viva Cityview Church Lutheran church in dtown Community Health Network, The Cupboard IPS School at Arlington Street Ministry at Rural St Tienda Morelos, Michigan st Fathers and Family Center

WATCH!!! …the former Deputy Mayor of Indianapolis (ten years ago)saw a big problem with how people were getting access to food. He was frustrated and said, “They don’t want to hear the real issue.” He knew the problem wasn’t just about not having enough food… was about the way people were disconnected from each other and the system. The real solution starts with building strong relationships and helping people become more aware of the deeper issues. It’s not just about handing out food; it’s about understanding what people really need and making them feel like they belong. The current system is broken because it focuses too much on quick solutions without fixing the real reasons behind hunger and inequality. We need a new way of doing things, one that focuses on relationships… where people aren’t just seen as someone needing help, but as valuable members of the community. We need to talk openly about the real problems behind food insecurity and bring attention to them. If we don’t change how we see and treat people, the system will keep failing especially those who need it most. Real change will only happen when we start with kindness, understanding, and a commitment to fixing the root of the problem. That’s how we can create a system that truly helps everyone. #foodaccessreformation https://lnkd.in/gT6Nk52Z

The most valuable investment anyone can make is in themselves… specifically in their relationship with God and their own well-being. If you neglect your own needs, it’s difficult to genuinely care for others. To create meaningful change in the world, you must first become a leader and a catalyst for that change. Personal growth, through education, training, and experience, equips you to make a positive impact on both your own life and the lives of future generations. Our intellect is one of God’s greatest gifts, and by nurturing it, we strengthen our ability to contribute to the world. INVEST IN YOURSELF. https://lnkd.in/gQr8Ur8N

Christian life has a natural rhythm, much like the balance between sleep and work. It involves moving from our daily interactions with other people into moments of quiet time with God, and then back again. This pattern helps us stay connected to God and live out our faith. However, there are two risks to be aware of. First, if we are always busy and active, we might not take enough time to listen to God. Our constant activity can make it hard to hear His guidance. Second, if we withdraw too much and only spend time in prayer or isolation, our prayers may not lead to any action. In other words, praying without putting our faith into practice can feel empty. The key is to find a balance between spending time in God’s presence and engaging with the world. True devotion means both praying with a sincere heart and using that inspiration to work and help others.

The greatest investment any organization can make is in its people. In the #foodaccess space, it’s the people who matter most—not the food. Last night’s #missional #foodpantry #training was nothing short of inspiring, as two churches—one from the far east and one from the far west side of Indianapolis—came together with a shared vision. These churches aren’t just offering free food; they are establishing #missionhubs, centers of transformation where lives are touched, and communities are rebuilt. This is the heartbeat of FHL’s mission: to plant mission hubs across the entire metro #Indianapolis area. The vision is coming alive before our eyes—a complete #reformation of charitable food assistance. It’s not about handing out food; it’s about lifting up people and reshaping the future!
