Cierra Sillmon shares her experiences as Programming Chair. One of the best parts of being involved with Future Healthcare Executives (FHE) is the opportunity to bring people together, and as?Programming?Chair, that’s exactly what I do! My role is all about making sure FHE members have meaningful opportunities to connect, learn, and grow. I’m responsible for planning, marketing, and executing all FHE events—especially our networking events, where students get to engage with alumni and healthcare leaders. I also collaborate with the rest of the executive board to support other events that help our members build their careers and find mentorship. From coordinating logistics to ensuring our events run smoothly, this role has helped me strengthen my leadership, organization, and communication skills. I’ve had the chance to work behind the scenes to create spaces where students can build relationships that will shape their futures in healthcare. FHE has been such an important part of my graduate experience, and I’m grateful to contribute in a way that helps bring our community together. If you’re interested in getting more involved, let’s connect!

Dr. Chanique Cousins is representing Georgia State University at the HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition!
Medical Doctor (MBBS) ?? | Dual MBA/MHA Candidate at GSU ?? | VP, Future Healthcare Executives ?? | Advancing Healthcare with Data-Driven Innovation ??
Day 1 at HIMSS Conference 2025 ended on a high note with the Opening Reception! Las Vegas is definitely an interesting place—where even a short walk can turn into an adventure. As an ambivert, networking doesn’t always come naturally to me, but every time I step out, I meet incredible people who keep me inspired. One of the highlights of my night was meeting Erin Hulfish, a Pediatric ICU Physician, Medical Director of Innovation at Stony Brook Medicine, and HA student. We spent about 45 minutes navigating from The Venetian to Caesars Forum—just across the road, yet somehow a maze inside a Vegas hotel/plaza! Eventually, we made it to the bus, where I met Andrew Swanson, a nurse with 15 years of experience, now pursuing a Master’s in Informatics. His travel stories could fill a book! Erin then introduced us to Nathan Fitton, a sports medicine physician and CMIO whom she met on the bus. His humility and insights sparked a fascinating discussion reminiscent of ICU rounds. He brought along Rachel, one of his directors, and soon, our conversation turned into a lively exchange about travel mishaps—from getting lost in Atlanta to must-see spots in Vegas. Did I need anything more than that? Nope—this made my night. My feet hurt but I would do it all again. Word of advice: if you simply want to go from point A to B in Las Vegas, just take the shuttle bus, if you want an adventure, wear comfortable shoes, leave early, and start walking. If you are anything like me, you will enjoy it. Thank you, HIMSS, for bringing us together! I'm looking forward to an even better tomorrow. #HIMSS2025 #Networking #HealthTech #Innovation
