At Family Health Centers, we are deeply concerned about the proposed federal Medicaid cuts and their potential impact on our community. Medicaid provides essential health coverage to nearly 1.5 million Kentuckians, accounting for 28% of the state's population. In fiscal year 2023, Kentucky's Medicaid program received over $13 billion in federal funding, covering approximately 71% of the program's costs. At our six Louisville locations, 52% of the nearly 40,000 patients we served last year were insured through Medicaid. Cuts to Medicaid funding could destabilize our ability to provide care, especially to uninsured patients, as we rely on Medicaid to cover costs for both insured and uninsured individuals. We urge our elected officials to recognize the critical role Medicaid plays in safeguarding the health and well-being of our neighbors. Preserving Medicaid funding is not just about healthcare; it's about protecting our communities and ensuring a healthier future for all Kentuckians. #ProtectMedicaid #KentuckyHealth #FamilyHealthCenters https://lnkd.in/ebqc6za9
