This $8.72 million transformation, designed by FGMA, is more than just a golfer's haven – it is a hub for residents throughout the community. The new clubhouse features a signature bar and grill, a welcoming outdoor patio and a sleek new pro shop. Inside, two indoor golf simulators offer opportunities for indoor lessons, leagues or a simple round with friends, regardless of weather. Fans of all ages can also enjoy simulator soccer, baseball and hockey. The old clubhouse was thoughtfully renovated into a versatile convention center with space for up to 250 guests. From immersive black box theaters to large assembly halls and everything in between, auditoriums have long provided transformational spaces for theatrical performances, educational events, concerts, worship, musical arts, graduation or awards celebrations and more. A wide range of abilities should be considered in auditoria design. FGMA prioritizes a design-for-all approach when it comes to planning for theaters and auditoriums with deliberate lighting, flexible seating and accessible layouts. David Yandel, AIA, LEED AP, Principal at FGMA, led the design team for the recently completed Armerding Center for Music and the Arts at Wheaton College, which has been described as “a world-class facility that successfully delivers an acoustic experience that is warm, engaging, exciting, and literally breathtaking.” "FGMA’s collaborative approach facilitated a design process where acoustics drove decision making as the most important factor,” said David. “It is important to support the subtlest of sounds to the full frequency response. Input from the owner, musicians, design partners, acoustic consultant, and audio-visual consultant informed a design focused on flexibility and adjustable acoustics to support the wide range of uses.” ?? St. Louis Community College recently commemorated a milestone in the construction of their new Transportation Education Center. In celebration of reaching a significant point in construction with the erection of steel, a beam signing gave the project team, construction team, stakeholders and students a chance to leave their permanent mark on the building. Lake County (IL) Division of Transportation commissioned FGMA to replace its fueling station and 30-year-old underground fuel storage tanks. The new dispensing area is designed to accommodate the county’s fleet of vehicles and was configured to maximize vehicle circulation during fueling operations, especially during snow events. In late October, a 20,000-gallon tank for diesel and two 10,000-gallon tanks for gasoline were installed on the site. This bright, modern facility in the Chicagoland area brings the Village Hall, Police Department and administrative offices for Downers Grove School District 58 under one shared roof.
