What a great first day of the Technolutions Summit! FGI Consultants wanted to share our top 10 list of new Slate features most likely to improve the day-to-day experience for Captains: 1. Universal Snapshots – Expanding the snapshot feature from Deliver and Rules to include Forms and Queries (Bonus: Revert to a previous snapshot) 2. Impersonation Session Toggle – Easily switch between user impersonations, granted via its own permission (not just for Security Admins) 3. S-Codes – Slate's new code for organizations, with central crosswalks for CEEB, NCES codes 4. Logging Everything – Improved user logs of all changes users make, beyond just access; SFTP and Direct SQL logging 5. SFTP Explorer Update – Ability to create new folders, rename, and directly upload into a folder 6. Entity Rules – Rules will be able to update entities (e.g. updating a scholarship entity based on a change to GPA) 7. Query Improvements (don’t make me choose just one—once a Data person, always a Data person): ?? 7a. Query Join Default – renaming joins automatically ?? ?7b.?Matching row counts, preview results, and check logic available inside subqueries ?? ?7c. Query Live Mode – See results as you make changes, with the option to make the query tool feel more like you're building a spreadsheet ?? ?7d. Query Live Link – Sync to Excel or Google Sheets; click Refresh to pull in the updated data (imagine the pivot tables that could update with one click!) 8. Timeline Filtering - Limit what's shown on the timeline; search for what you need 9. Universal Copy and Paste – Copy and paste from a subquery export into a subquery filter, between queries, from a query to a portal, or even between instances 10. Translation Codes & Content Blocks – a new editor, with the ability to permission by key; support for plaintext (e.g. for SMS) There's lots more to explore—managing event spaces (seating charts!) in Slate, revamped campaigns, a new approach to academic terms, and so much AI—and Slate After Dark hasn't even started yet.
