We are thrilled to have had a panel of 8 women representing Suffolk Construction, Megan Kohan, Mackie Myers, Jessie Willey, Gayathri Siddigari, Tici Bradfield, Christy McHenry, CPCU, ARM, Corina Castellano and Marie Henning, MA, MBA providing support to our Women In Construction (WIC student organization). We greatly appreciate it when we have guest lecturers come into our classrooms and provide thoughtful information to our students in Construction Seminar classes taught by Drs. Ehab Shaheen and Long Nguyen?this fall.? Having Sabra Raudendbush, Vice President, Human Resources at London Bay provided her valuable time and information is greatly appreciated.? Take away from her presentation: ?According to ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors – January 31, 2024) A half million employees are needed to meet the current demand and there is a current shortage that is forcing contractors to turn down jobs in the Construction Industry. There is a great importance of people in the construction industry.? Industry partners are looking to attract and retain high quality staff, prospective employees should be looking for Development and Mentoring opportunities and examining the workplace culture for a good fit. When we all come together there is an opportunity that creates a better employer brand and provides a great working environment and culture.
