Reshaping the Minnesota Hunger Relief System
关于我们
Foundation For Essential Needs (FFEN) is an entrepreneurial, innovative and nimble nonprofit focused on increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of local food shelves. FFEN engages skilled, pro-bono volunteers to offer pragmatic, no-cost consultation and equipment improvements to food shelves adapting to meet the changing needs of their community. Since 2013, FFEN has positively impacted nearly 200 food shelves in Minnesota. This local work informs FFEN’s broader efforts in supporting both professional development opportunities and advocating for systems change at the local, regional and statewide levels. FFEN’s multi-level approach is essential to creating a statewide hunger relief sector that ensures equitable access to healthy food through a welcoming and dignified experience for those who receive it.

In FFEN’s food sourcing conversations directly with food shelf leaders, we have been hearing about the challenges food shelves are facing to meet the increased demand for food from their communities. We’re thrilled to hear that Minnesota’s food shelves will be receiving an infusion of funds to support food access in their local communities. https://lnkd.in/gRvczGih

On behalf of all of us at FFEN and the 300 Minnesota food shelves we will reach in the year to come, thank you for your support! Thanks to generous donors like you, we raised $54,706 dollars on Give to the Max Day and unlocked our entire match, exceeding our goal. These donations will allow us to support, train and guide food shelves across Minnesota that provide vital services to their communities. Our work would not be possible without our generous donors and dedicated volunteers. Thank you for partnering with us to build stronger food shelves that support Minnesota families. And, if you did not yet have a chance to give, it’s not too late! Every gift through Dec. 31 will advance our important work in 2025. Please join us in thanking our generous matching donors: Kurt and Nancie Klitzke Kohrs Family Partnership Dr. O’Neill and Dr. Klodas Hernan Rojas and Liz Lunn John and Rebecca Brown Sperling Alerus Mortgage With your support this year we are able to help food shelves do better so families in Minnesota do better.
