In the past month, Festival Foods associate & Guest Services Manager, Amy, has been busy volunteering with the Fond du Lac Swim Club, Relay for Life, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and STEM Academy! Today we share why Amy chooses to volunteer, “I like to be involved in my community. It started in college I was very involved in the community. For example, through Big Brothers Big Sisters, I am on my third match. The first two have graduated; one is married with a child, and the other one is in college. I'm still in contact with both of them! Volunteering just fills a place in my heart. It has also been part of our family life. Festival Foods associate & HBC/GM Department Manager, Aluma, shared photos from her time volunteering with Woof Gang Rescue! Here’s more on what Aluma does with Woof Gang Rescue and why she chooses to volunteer: “I am on the Transport, Intake, Fundraising, and Event Planning teams. On the Transport team we take dogs to vet appointments, foster homes, or to and from our facility. With the Intake team we welcome new dogs that have been taken from shelters that are at capacity or surrenders. We make sure they have food, water, and a bath if necessary, then begin finding their foster homes immediately. The Fundraising and Event Planning Team brainstorms and acts on new ideas to advertise and put our foster pups in a good and loving forever home. I found out that one of our dogs was adopted at Pumpkin Blowout in 2024 which was a huge win! My supervisor recommended them to me when I moved to Wisconsin and needed a volunteer network. The reason why I volunteer with Woof Gang specifically is because of their ongoing mission to provide for animals and they spare no expense doing so. With fifteen years of working with rescues under my belt I have experienced reluctance to take on a lot or pull back, but with Woof Gang I am proud to say there are incredible people at the helm that continually fight for animals and their safety.” Interested in volunteering?
