The cost of lithium-ion battery packs has witnessed a remarkable 14% drop, hitting a record low of $139/kWh in 2023. https://lnkd.in/e7J8gTfR This substantial reduction is primarily attributed to a decline in cell prices, driven by the fall in raw materials and components costs. To achieve the ambitious target of $80/kWh for lithium-ion battery packs by 2030, it's crucial to address the cathode component cost, which presently constitutes around 50% of the cell cost.
